The CWGC site records in additional information that James Anthony Whelan is the son of Robert Whelan and Catherine Whelan of Chaddesden, Derbyshire.

Nottingham Road Cemetery Burial Records – in the nineteenth century only those who were C of E were buried in consecrated ground all others in unconsecrated ground (at this time there were many nonconformist churches in Derby. The cemetery had two separate chapels, the one that is still used was originally only for C of E burials. The nonconformist chapel is now used to store equipment)
